Tim Donovan

Tim Donovan is the Political Editor for the BBC's regional news service for London, BBC London. He also presents the London regional opt-out for The Politics Show each Sunday on BBC One, as well as occasionally presenting the main programme when regular presenter Jon Sopel is away.

He initially trained in newspapers, before becoming a political reporter on Around Westminster. He then became a general reporter for the programme Newsroom South East, which was later replaced by BBC London and BBC South Today. He won Broadcaster of the Year in the 2001 BT awards, for a report on Ken Livingstone's campaign to become mayor, having followed him around for a month with a digital video camera.

Tim has four children and lives in South London, where he is a school governor. In his spare time he enjoys holidays, football, walking and reading.[1] His father is the long-time Daily Mail bridge correspondent, Peter Donovan.
